DONALD V. DUSTMAN

Donald V. Dustman, age 85, of Elk City, Kansas, died Tuesday, June 29, 2010 at Mercy Hospital, Independence.

Cremation has taken place and memorial services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Friday at Penwell-Gabel Webb & Rodrick Chapel with Reverend Jim Wilburn , pastor of the Elk City Christian Church, officiating. Private inurnment will be held at a later date at the Oak Hill Cemetery in Elk City.

The family has suggested memorial remembrances to the Disabled American Veterans (D.A.V) and remembrances will be received at the funeral home.

Donald Villar Dustman was born March 31, 1925 in Burlington, Iowa, the son of Villar A. Dustman and Luella (Hippe) Dustman. He attended schools in Burlington and graduated from Horace Mann High School in 1942.

Mr. Dustman was an Army Veteran of WWII, receiving the Purple Heart while serving in the Italian Campaign. Mr. Dustman joined the military on September 13, 1943 and was discharged on August 23, 1945.

Mr. Dustman was employed as a machinist and tool and die maker at Funk Manufacturing in Coffeyville.

Mr. Dustman married Mary Ann Swore on January 16, 1948 in Burlington, Iowa. She preceded him in death on March 29, 1987.

Survivors include: two sons, Gary Dustman of Monett, MO and Danny Dustman of Elk City; 5 grandchildren: and a sister, Anna Belle Dustman of California.
