Joyce Pauline Woodson Hallums, 89, died April 14, 2012 at her home in Hutchinson. She was born February 14, 1923 in Hutchinson, the daughter of James A. and Thelma M. Plummer Woodson. She was a graduate of Hutchinson High School. She was a homemaker and attended Walnut and Campbell Church of Christ. She married Nathaniel B. Hallums on January 11, 1952 in Hutchinson. He died May 29, 1984.
Survivors include a son, Burgess Hallums and wife Deb, San Diego, CA, 2 brothers, Gerald Woodson, Wichita and Leland Woodson, Hutchinson, 3 sisters, Galena M. Crable, Geraldine Triplett, and Theda Sorenson, all of Hutchinson, 3 grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, 4 brothers, James, Loyal, Kenneth, and Jeffrey Woodson and one sister, Anna Marie Walker.
Cremation is planned. Memorial services will be held at 2:00 PM Wednesday at Penwell-Gabel Funeral Home and Crematory, Hutchinson, with Pastor Bob Phipps presiding. Friends may sign the book from 9AM-9PM Monday and Tuesday at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of Reno County in care of the funeral home.
