Carolyn June Loutzenhiser, 65, died July 14, 2012 at the Reno County Hospice House, Hutchinson. She was born July 18, 1946 in Kingman, the daughter of William and Ruth Gilchrist Heim. She was a 1965 graduate of Little River High School. A resident of Hutchinson since 1991, she had previously lived in Lyons. She was an accomplished artist, having won several awards. She was a member of the Reno County Art Association and the Kansas Art Association. She married Robert Loutzenhiser on June 20, 1965 in Mitchell, KS. He survives.
Survivors include a son, Bryan Loutzenhiser and wife Monica, Hutchinson, a
daughter, Lynette Casey and husband Rick, Hutchinson, a sister, Mary Heim, Hutchinson, a brother Fred Heim, Junction City, and 4 grandchildren, Makayla, Jadyn, Drew, and Katie.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
Funeral services will be held at 10:00 AM Wednesday at Penwell-Gabel Funeral Home and Crematory, Hutchinson, with Pastor Mike McGuire presiding. Burial will follow at the Lyons Municipal Cemetery, Lyons. Visitation will be held from 5-9PM Monday and 9AM to 9PM Tuesday, with the family present from 6-8PM Tuesday, all at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to the Botanical Gardens of Wichita or the American Cancer Society, both in care of the funeral home.
